Lucid Loop: A Y2K Digital Watch Reimagined by CHOOSZ.
A clear cuff, a floating digital face and no buckle interrupting the line. Lucid Loop revisits an early-2000s idea we still love, then draws it again in CHOOSZ language.

01 / THE IDEA BEFORE LUCID LOOP
When a sports watch became a digital bracelet.
The most interesting part was not a logo or a particular colour. It was the decision to remove the usual boundaries between case, strap and object.
The Nike Presto Digital Sport Bracelet was designed by Scott Wilson during his time as Creative Director at Nike Timing. According to Wilson’s studio, MNML, the 2003 design was conceived as an ultra-simple, lightweight and flexible digital bracelet rather than a conventional watch with a separate head and band.
Its custom polymer construction created a smooth, uninterrupted surface. Three points of contact held the bracelet against the wrist while leaving room for air to move underneath. The finish took cues from eyewear—transparent colour, polish and a material that could flex instead of looking mechanically assembled.
It was also a rare case of a design experiment finding a huge audience. MNML reports that a first-year forecast of roughly 30,000 units became about 1.5 million sales. Today, the original is more often encountered through vintage listings, but its central idea still feels surprisingly current: a digital watch can be a piece of fluid industrial design.
02 / REDRAWN BY CHOOSZ
We kept the continuity. We changed the character.
Lucid Loop is not a line-for-line remake. Its proportions, display and wrist architecture have been reorganised around a clearer, more sculptural everyday watch.

Less sports equipment, more object on the wrist.
CHOOSZ opened the back of the band into a C-shaped cuff and rounded both ends, so Lucid Loop slips onto the wrist without a buckle or loose strap tail. The transparent PVC is deliberately substantial: light travels through the edges, giving the watch a glassy, almost ice-carved outline.
At the centre, a polished silver-tone frame surrounds a compact rounded-square display. That metallic border gives the softness of the clear body a precise focal point. Instead of a familiar seven-segment typeface, Lucid Loop builds tall numerals from rows of narrow blocks—a display with its own graphic rhythm.
The homage lives in the idea of a seamless digital bracelet. The open cuff, vertical numerals, rounded-square screen and CHOOSZ proportions belong to Lucid Loop.
No buckle in the line.
The rounded cuff ends leave a deliberate gap beneath the wrist and keep the upper silhouette visually continuous.
Transparency does the styling.
Clothes and skin show through the band, allowing the same clear watch to look different with every outfit.
Digits with a different tempo.
Slender blocks stretch the numerals vertically, making the screen recognizable before the time is even read.

03 / THE SCREEN WAKES UP
Calm in daylight. A little sci-fi after dark.
Unlit, the display sits softly behind the silver surround. The long block numerals stay legible without turning the entire watch into a gadget. Press the side button and a blue backlight fills the screen, turning the clear case into something closer to a prop from an optimistic version of the future.
The useful parts remain straightforward: time, calendar, chronograph and a choice of 12- or 24-hour format. It has personality, but it still remembers its day job.
04 / TWO DIFFERENT MOODS
Clear catches the light. Black holds onto it.
The construction stays the same; changing the colour changes the whole attitude.

TRANSPARENT
The full Lucid Loop effect.
Clear PVC lets reflections, clothing and skin become part of the watch. It feels bright, playful and unmistakably Y2K without needing a loud colour.

BLACK
The same curve after midnight.
Glossy black makes the continuous form feel sharper and more discreet. The unusual digits remain, but the watch works more quietly with everyday clothes.

Y2K, without dressing like a time capsule.
Early-2000s design was fascinated by objects that looked sealed, translucent and slightly alive. Lucid Loop brings that optimism back without asking you to recreate an entire period outfit.
The colourless cuff behaves almost like a neutral. With grey tailoring it looks clean; beside silver jewellery it becomes more polished; against a bright sleeve it borrows the colour underneath. That adaptability is what keeps the reference wearable rather than merely nostalgic.
And because the watch is visually simple from a distance, the stranger details arrive gradually: the open underside, the thick clear edge and those improbably tall numerals. It rewards a second look instead of demanding one.

06 / THE PRACTICAL PART
A sculptural cuff still needs to work as a watch.

A CLEAR IDEA, DRAWN AGAIN
Wear the reference. Keep the identity CHOOSZ.
Lucid Loop thanks an influential digital-bracelet idea, then moves on in its own transparent direction—open at the wrist, vertical on the screen and unmistakably itself.
